Slugs and Snails feed on a wide array of materials that unfortunately includes plant leaves. They tend to be active at night, so if you’re not sure what’s eating your veggies, go out at night with a torch. A tell tale trail of slime can also give them away.
It can often be worth checking under rocks or pots during the day and disposing of any slugs and snails before they can wreak havoc.
